Upon the start of a Hello Next Caller conference, the audio and video of the Host is broadcast to all of the other conference participants. This is exactly the same as a "Broadcast" conference.;
Scheduling a Hello Next Caller Conference A "Hello Next Caller" conference is scheduled by selecting "Hello Next Caller" as the conference type on the scheduling screen. The labels for the conference participants ("Host", "Participant 2", ...) indicate the role of each selected conference participant (indicated by "Participant Name"). The remainder of the scheduling is performed like all of the other types of conferences. During the scheduling process The scheduling program finds and reserves the Hello Next Caller unit and the minimum
number of trunk resources needed to be able to interact with the participants dynamically.
Either one or two trunks are required to reach the participants and HNC resource on each switch. At the start of the conference Upon the start of the conference, the conference is switched so that a broadcast of the Host is sent to each of the participants. The Host can return to this display state at any time. When the Host calls in to the VRU to control the HNC Queue and conference display The Conference Host can access the VRU functions by calling the VRU and entering 0
followed by the conference number for the "Login ID" and the random 8-digit password
assigned to the conference. The Host is presented with a dynamic menu to options to
control the conference. When the HNC Queue is activated The conference participants can call the VRU and enter 0 followed by the conference number for the Login ID and the participant number for the password. If the location is not in the queue a prompt will play indicating that the location can be added to the queue. If the location is already in the queue a prompt will play indicating that the location can be removed from the queue. Once the selection is made the operation is performed and the caller is disconnected from the VRU.
Upon the start of the conference, the Host can call in to the VRU and hear a menu of
options to control the conference display (much like controlling a quad). Difference between PIP and PUP
The Host may also change between PIP and PUP modes at any time. Changing between PIP and PUP mode can even be done if the conference is in the broadcasting state (although this will not change any of the participant's displays). This feature might be used to ensure that the appropriate mode is broadcast when the Host and Live Caller interact Point-to-Point prior to actually issuing the command. |
